Structural Detail Firm
Problem: |
The Structural Detail firm has a custom program that they purchased from a vendor to do their structural steel detailing. The program was written for AutoCAD 2002 and they upgraded to AutoCAD 2007 and after they had the software installed and configured by an AutoCAD reseller a large part of the customization didn't work any more. Their productivity went down by over 50% and they need their program working again as soon as possible. There are a number of features that are not working the way they should be and they would like those fixed if possible. There is one function in regards to arc dimensioning that no longer works the way it use to and they would like to recreate that. |
Solution: |
Review the current programming and make the necessary corrections and changes in their computer configuration to get their programming working at the same level it was before the migration to the new software in the first week of involvement in the project. Fix all of the features that were never working the way they should. Add the function to dimension arc's and partial arc's the way they want them to. |
Outcome: |
After the fixes on the custom program it was working better after the migration to the new version of AutoCAD then it was on the original version of AutoCAD. |
Statistics: |
There were ten to twelve (10 -12) users of the current customization. The customization was working the way it was before the migration within one (1) week of being asked to help out. The project took three (3) months to implement all the required and requested items. The total project development was 65 hours and $5,525. |
